Accounts Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to manage all aspects of finance for Pharaoh Care and ensure compliance is met in all things finance including payroll.

A successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly ATO obligations within the deadline
  • Liaise with external stakeholders
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Manage office expenditure
  • Manage daily bank reconciliations
  • General ledger maintenance and trial balance
  • Manage fixed asset register
  • Monitor petty cash reconciliations
  • Manage all data records within the accounting system (Xero)
  • Coordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential Criteria

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • 2+ Years’ experience in a similar role
  • Finance or accounting qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles
  • Understanding of cash receipting, debtor and creditor transactions
  • Ability to prove general ledger accounting entries through to final balance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Xero accounting software
  • Basic understanding of corporate governance principles, risk management concepts, compliance requirements and concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to be highly confidential, discreet and tactful
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures, as well as prepare and present briefs and reports
  • Ability to make sound decisions and judgements
  • Be resilient and adaptable to change, with the flexibility to assist in other areas of the business when necessary
  • Must be able to work to deadlines and have excellent time management skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • To have worked in the disability sector
  • Have an understanding of the NDIS
  • Hold a current Blue Card, Yellow card, National Police Check and Current drivers’ licence

THE SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Disability Support Worker is responsible for implementing training and support services aimed at maximising the living, employment, social and recreational skills of people with a disability. Community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs. The Disability Support Worker is a valued member of The Disability Support worker contributes to the development of service practice through regular staff meetings, planning processes and policy reviews. All service delivery must be in line with the Policies and Procedures of Pharaoh Care and the requirements of the QLD Disability Services Act.
